Getting Started
Your first 30 minutes in the ANC CRM — log in, get oriented, do your first useful thing.
Getting Started
A practical walkthrough for someone opening the ANC CRM for the first time. By the end of this page you'll have logged in, switched to the right workspace, found your dashboard, used the AI assistant, and logged a real record.
1. Log in
- Go to crm.ancsports.net
- Sign in with Google — use your ANC email
- If it's your first time, an admin needs to invite you. If you see "no workspace found", ask your manager or CRM admin to add your ANC email.
2. Switch to the ANC app
This is the most common stumble for new users.
The CRM has two workspace areas:
- Standard — the default starter area
- ANC — every dashboard, view, and folder ANC actually uses
Top-left of the screen is the app switcher (it shows the current app name). If it says "Standard", click it and pick ANC. The CRM remembers your choice — you only do this once.
If you bookmark a URL while in the Standard area, the bookmark will not show ANC content. Always copy URLs from inside the ANC area.
3. Tour the sidebar
In the ANC app, the left sidebar has:
- Favorites (top) — anything you've starred. Empty until you star something.
- Workspace — Companies, People, Opportunities, Tasks, Notes (the standard CRM objects)
- Dashboards — ANC 2026 Company Dashboard, plus any role-specific dashboards
- Views — saved filtered lists. The big ones:
- Bid Tracker (kanban, by
bidStatus) - Proposal Pipeline (list, sorted by
proposalDueDate) - Estimation & Proposals (Natalia's daily — grouped by
pricingComplete) - Backlog (won deals, sorted by
substantialCompletionDate) - Top Open Deals (sorted by
dealValue) - Win/Loss by League
- Bid Tracker (kanban, by
- Settings (bottom) — only useful for admins
Star anything you'll open daily — it pins to Favorites at the top.
4. Open your first dashboard
Click ANC 2026 Company Dashboard in the sidebar.
This is the leadership-facing rollup. Eleven widgets matching Jireh's prior Salesforce layout: pipeline value by vertical, win rate, weighted forecast, top accounts, etc.
Things to try:
- Hover any chart segment — exact values appear
- Click a widget title to drill into the underlying records
- Switch between fiscal years using the year filter at the top
If a widget shows a count that does not look right, ask a CRM admin to review the dashboard filter. Do not rebuild the dashboard yourself.
5. Open an Opportunity
In the sidebar → Opportunities → click any row.
You're looking at the deal detail page. It has:
- Header — name, value, stage, owner
- Tabs along the top — Notes, Tasks, Files, Activity Timeline
- Linked records on the right — Company, People involved, Revenue Splits, Estimates, Service Tickets, Design Requests
- Fields on the right panel — the key deal details ANC tracks, including probability, proposal due date, paid amount, account executive, margin, and yearly revenue.
Edit any field inline by clicking it.
Full lifecycle and field reference: Opportunities.
6. Use the AI assistant (Scout)
Top-right corner — the chat bubble. Click it.
This is Scout, the CRM's named AI agent. It has access to live CRM data and 30 ANC-specific skills. Try asking:
which deals are due this weekmargin on Knicks deals this yeartop open deals by value, technology vertical onlycreate a touchdown graphic for Louisville, night game vibeIt picks the right skill automatically. If it picks the wrong one, force it: "use the pipeline-tracker skill: ...".
Full skill list with copy-pastable prompts: Scout Skills.
7. Log your first record
Pick the flow that matches your role.
Sales / BD — log a new RFP
- Sidebar → Opportunities → + New
- Search for the company first — don't create a duplicate
- Set:
name— short, e.g., "Louisville Athletics — Stadium LED 2026"stage=PROPOSALbidStatus=RFP_RECEIVEDproposalDueDate— when the response is duebusinessUnit, league, accountExecutive
- Save
Or just say it to Scout:
log a new RFP: Louisville Athletics, TECHNOLOGY, due April 30, AE [name]Operations — log a new contact
- Sidebar → People → + New
- Set
firstName,lastName,email,phone - Always link
companyto an existing Company record - Save
Anyone — log a meeting note
- Open the Company or Person it's about
- Tabs at the top → Notes → + New
- Title, body (rich text), save
The note auto-links to the record. It's searchable from the global search at the top of the screen.
8. Bookmark the views you'll use daily
For most people that's:
- Sales: Bid Tracker (kanban) + Proposal Pipeline
- Estimators: Estimation & Proposals
- Leadership: ANC 2026 Company Dashboard + Top Open Deals
- Services: Backlog + Bid Tracker
Open each → click the star icon → it goes into Favorites.
9. Keyboard shortcuts
| Shortcut | What |
|---|---|
/ | Focus the global search |
g + d | Go to Dashboards |
g + o | Go to Opportunities |
g + c | Go to Companies |
g + p | Go to People |

10. When something looks wrong
- Empty page with no familiar dashboards? → You're in the Standard area. Switch to ANC.
- A view shows zero rows? → A filter has accidentally AND'd to impossible. Remove filters one at a time.
- A widget shows the wrong count? → Ask a CRM admin to check the dashboard filter.
- Scout picked the wrong skill? → Force it: "use the
pipeline-trackerskill: ...". - You created a duplicate Company? → Merge duplicates.
